What is Direct Mail?

Direct Mail….we are all touched by it every day. Many people actually look forward to receiving their daily mail. In fact, 98 percent* of consumers bring in their mail the day it’s delivered, and 77 percent sort through it immediately.  

Direct Mail makes good use of this fact through a mailed advertisement that is addressed to specific individuals, rather than a blanket mailing over a geographic area.  The term Bulk Mail broadly refers to mail <http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mail> that is mailed and processed in bulk at reduced rates.

Mass advertising (TV, print, radio, etc.) can be expensive and isn’t always an option for small businesses. How to choose the correct class of mail
There are three types of mail you can choose from:

First Class Mail®                         1-3 Day Delivery Time                   Any Quantity

Postcards, letters, large envelopes, and small packages can be sent using First-Class Mail.
This service is typically used for personal and business correspondence and bills.

First-Class Pre-sorted Mail         1-3 Day Delivery Time                  >500 Quantity

All pieces in a mailing must be the same size. For discounted First-Class Mail, you must have 500 or more pieces per mailing.

Standard Class (Bulk) Mail   All: 2-10 Day Delivery Time               >200 Quantity
                                             Most: 6 - 8 Day Delivery Time

All pieces in a mailing must be the same size. Each mailing must contain at least 200 pieces or 50 pounds of pieces.
